I'm looking for sites run by strong, opinionated women. Please read the about page for further elaboration.

As this is an elite clique, I reserve the right to refuse membership to any site/person who applies. Just because I said 'no' once, doesn't mean I will in the future. So take it with a grain of salt and understand that your site didn't meet the requirements that time, but maybe it will the next time around.

Good design skills are necessary. I say good, not INCREDIBLY AWESOMELY WONDERFUL because I know that I'm not the best there is, so how can I expect that from everyone else? But good skills are important, knowing when NOT to use neon colors, avoiding black text on a black background, stop the spread of blinkies...the usual. Exceptionally designed sites which humble my ego will be showcased every month on the main page. Sites should be artistic in design and show genuine talent.

I want to find something about YOU on your site, something that gives me an idea of the type of person you are. This is not a judgement on your character, only me looking for content that indicates I'm visiting a 'personal site'.

A link back to the clique is required at all times. It may be an image or a text link, whichever goes best with your layout. Code checks will be done occasionally, and any sites not displaying the link will be removed from UnShut. Do not add a code to your website until I have responded to your application, I'd hate for you to waste your time in the event I said no. Have your code up no later than 2 weeks after you have received approval from me, or you'll be deleted from the members list.

I don't ask for constant updates, but at least once per month is nice.

Doesn't look good in either IE or FireFox. I can use either to browse, but I will not download another program to look at your website.

Hot-linked images/buttons from someone else’s site

Content, artwork, image thievery

More than 2 pop-ups.

Pop-ups that introduce themselves every time you open a page

Hosted on a free-server [ geocities, etc. ] if your site is good, someone will want to host it.

Contains pornography of anyone [ yourself included ] under the age of 18. I will report you to your local authorities. This requires no explanation
